‘Jungle camp’ residents moved on
Posted in Uncategorized on September 22nd, 2009 by Govaner – 4 CommentsI watch on in a kinda shocked silence as the French Police tear apart ‘The Jungle’, with hundreds of people who desperately want to enter the UK
It seems to be that there is no real simple answer to the huge question posed by immigration and is not something that I want to go into, but clearly it is something that needs to be tackled. With hundreds of men who have travelled from war torn Afghanistan, we need to find a solution, many of these men are hundreds of miles away from their families and indeed loved ones. Is it time that the EU countries take responsibility and provide a serious investments for these people who clearly want to ‘work hard’?
According to the Guardian which is also the source of the video…
Some camp dwellers were dragged away and put into waiting buses. Police officers also clashed with protesters from the No Border movement, some of whom had come from England to demonstrate at the camp entrance against its destruction.
Migrants waited for the police eviction last night, displaying banners demanding asylum rights. Adam Khan, 25, a former chauffeur from southern Afghanistan, said all he wanted to do was reach the UK.
‘I’ve been here one month and I am trying and trying to go to England, The situation is bad in Afghanistan but I have relatives in England.
The solution?
