Is Money saving the new Money spending?
With the rise of the savvy consumer, who now spend hours trawling through the internet, searching for savings, one can only imagine how this type of “new breed” consumer is going to effect the economy.
When was the last time you stopped and really thought about the product that you were about to hand you hard earned cash over for? I imagine even today on the way to work a small thought crossed your mind; Am I really getting the best deal for this? I know it did for me.
Sites such as Money Saving Expert all put forward the idea that you can “con” these huge multi-national companies out of there money. Which in my mind brings forward the interesting point, that where, morally, is the line to draw? As we are all effected. I have found myself in recent times more likely not to shop at certain stores? Would it not be extremely interesting to see what would happen if we boycotted a certain shop? Inevitably it would crumble, woo hoo some might say, rather look at the 3,000 people who have just lost there job!
Have us consumer’s caused the current economic climate, due to the fact that we only have ourselves to blame, as we where the one’s who took advantage of banks offering us loans etc, we where sold and idea and brought it.
