Zumba Phone
Lid lifted on what IA Technology is calling the world’s first truly hands-free mobile phone.
The BBC is carrying a video report detailing a previously ‘top secret’ mobile handset called the Zumba.
The device is being developed by UK-based IA Technology, which makes ejector seat and protection equipment for the military.
Zumba is based around what IA calls the “world’s first fully accurate voice recognition system for mobile phones”.
The device take the form of an earpiece that, in the words of the report, connects to an internet portal that allows the user to call or text anyone, anywhere.
Contacts etc are stored on a website – if the earpiece is lost or stolen it is apparently unusable.
